FlashForward is a US television series, adapted for television by Brannon Braga and David S. Goyer, aired for a season on ABC between September 24, 2009 and May 27, 2010. It's based on a 1999 Flashforward novel by Canadian science fiction writer Robert J. Sawyer. The series revolves around the lives of some as a mysterious event that causes almost everyone on this planet simultaneously loses consciousness for two minutes and seventeen seconds on October 6, 2009. During this outage, people see what seems to be their life vision at 29 April 2010, global "flashforward" six months ahead.
In May 2010, ABC announced that FlashForward has been canceled. The end of season for Season 1 is shot before the show is known to be canceled and shows other flashforward events that occur over 20 years in the future. It's closer to following the original book, featuring flashforward peeps 21 ½ years ahead.

Premise
FlashForward was built around a high-concept narrative in which a mysterious event has caused nearly everyone on the planet to lose consciousness simultaneously for 137 seconds, during which time people see what seems to be their own life vision around six months in the future: "flashforward" global. A team of Los Angeles FBI agents, led by Stanford Wedeck (Vance) and pioneered by Mark Benford (Fiennes) and his partner Demetri Noh (Cho), begin the process of determining what happened, why, and whether it will happen again. Benford provides a unique perspective on investigations; quickly, he saw the results of six months of investigation he had done on a flashforward event, and he and his team used the instructions to recreate the investigation.
The pilot was written by David S. Goyer (who also directed) and Brannon Braga, from Robert J. Sawyer's novel, with Goyer and Braga executives producing with Jessika Borsiczky Goyer, Vince Gerardis, and Ralph Vicinanza.
FlashForward was originally developed at HBO, which sold the option because it considered it would be more suitable for broadcast networks. After purchasing the series and ordering the pilot, ABC took FlashForward for thirteen episodes in May 2009. On October 12, 2009, ABC took the series for the 22-episode season. Later on the same day, it was announced that ABC had ordered three more episodes for the first season of 25 episodes, which were later adjusted to 24.
On October 21, 2009, it was announced that executive producer Marc Guggenheim would leave ABC FlashForward. Co-creator and executive producer David S. Goyer stepped up to replace him as a showrunner. On February 5, 2010, Goyer announced he would resign as a showrunner to focus on film and directing. He's still involved with the show. Goyer was replaced as a showrunner by his wife, Jessika Goyer, along with Lisa Zwerling and Timothy J. Lea.
On May 13, 2010, it was reported that FlashForward will not be updated for the second season due to a decrease in viewership. Season 1, Part 1 of this series was released on DVD on February 23, 2010. This DVD has the first ten episodes, plus bonus material. The full series was released on DVD on August 31, 2010 (including more bonus material). The full series should also be released on Blu-ray on the same date, but the unlimited Blu-ray release is delayed and then canceled. The first two discs of the full 5-disc circuit are the same as the 2-disc circuit of episode 1-10.
Each episode title heading includes a hidden image inside the FlashForward logo to show what part of the episode is. These images are visible when the sequence is paused at the right time.

Reception
Rating and views
Despite launching to a large audience of 12.47 million viewers in the US, the ratings of the event quickly declined to rank about a third of that number. Scheduling events in the US are held to blame by some; an unexpected hiatus extension may have contributed to a worsening fanbase. However, in other countries such as England, where events are scheduled prime time on terrestrial television, ratings are also reduced. In the UK, the show was screened in Channel Five, a channel that received a very bad picture compared to its peers.
This event is watched by an average of 8.5 million viewers per episode, ranked 44th most watched show of the season.
Critical reception
FlashForward received generally positive reviews, with a Metacritic score of 72 out of 100, based on 26 criticism reviews. In September 2009, Tim Goodman of the San Francisco Chronicle regarded the series as "very entertaining" with a "tempting premise", while Ginia Bellafante of the New York Times wrote that "Starting with the spirit enforcing the tension that [he] is challenged to remember other pilots who captivate [him] so quickly become addicted. " Variety 's Brian Lowry provides a more measurable review, arguing, "This is an interesting, mind-bending concept that is largely well-executed [...] there is a desire strong to see more but not surprisingly like that to proclaim an unshakable loyalty until the show is a little further down the road. "'Entertainment Weekly' Ken Tucker rated the series" B ", stating," < i> FF is not perfect Many thoughts have been given to plot and character but not enough for visual: This is one of the most boring intelligent shows.Thematically, FF makes the main philosophical point - living at the time, etc.-- but instead of mendramatasinya, often just have the character to talk with them. "Tucker describes the show as" combining/ingan sci-fi-ish conspiracy conspiracy with drama prime-time-soap very good". Awards and nominations
