Aisha N. Tyler (born September 18, 1970) is an American talk show host, actress, comedian, writer, producer, writer and director. He is known for describing Andrea Marino in the first season of Ghost Whisperer, voicing Lana Kane in Archer, depicting Dr. Tara Lewis on Criminal Minds and describes Mother Nature in the Santa Clause movie series, as well as a recurring role in CSI: Crime Investigation , Talk Soup and Friends . He is a former co-host of CBS's The Talk , and host of Whose Line Is It Anyway? Tyler also hosted E3 Ubisoft press conferences from 2012 to 2016, and has made a variety of video game features including Hello: Reach and Ubisoft Watch Dogs where sounds and similarities are displayed.

Tyler was born in San Francisco, California, the daughter of Robin Gregory, a teacher, and James Tyler, a photographer. The family spent a year in Ethiopia and then spent time living in the ashram in the US.
He pursued an early interest in comedy at McAteer High School in San Francisco, which has a special program called School of the Arts, now called Ruth Asawa San Francisco School of the Arts. Tyler attended high school with Sam Rockwell, and Margaret Cho. He has a crush on Rockwell, and follows him to a one-day acting class, which causes his interest in improvisation and sketches.
Tyler graduated from Dartmouth College in 1992. He is a member of The Tabard, a co-ed fraternity. At Dartmouth, he co-founded and sang at Dartmouth Rockapellas, a cappella all-female group devoted to spreading social awareness through songs.
After working at a San Francisco advertising company, he visited the country to pursue a comedy career before moving to Los Angeles in 1996.

Tyler's television career began in 2001 with the work of Host of the Talking Soup and the reality series-dating the Fifth Wheel , even though Talk Sup was canceled in the year the next and Tyler left The Fifth Wheel in 2002 to pursue other interests. Tyler appeared in naked pictures, along with other celebrities, in the May 2006 edition of Allure . The annual Nude problem raises money to fight skin cancer.
In May 2009, it was announced that ABC had given Tyler his own talk show pilot, The Aisha Tyler Show . In early May 2010, he presented the video "Welcome to Beta" for Hello: Reach . He also voiced minor characters in the game.
In 2009, he started his role as a star voicing Lana Kane in the FX Archer series, which aired on January 14, 2010 and has been updated for the sixth and seventh seasons, for premiere until 2016. In August 2010 , Tyler starts appearing in the repeat guestroom at The Stephanie Miller Show . This segment is named "Tuesday By Tyler". The show was launched as a comedy podcast. 4 on iTunes and is currently no comedy podcast. 2, and podcasts no. 7 overall in iTunes. The first weekly installment of Girl on Guy features guest H. Jon Benjamin, the second featuring Brett Erlich's current TV host host Brett Erlich on August 1, 2011, and the creator of Archer third seed, Adam Reed on August 9, 2011.
In October 2011, it was announced that Tyler will be joining The Talk players as a permanent co-host, replacing Holly Robinson Peete. His first full week as co-host was October 24th until October 28th, 2011. Tyler is known for being expressive and outspoken about The Talk, especially about African American culture and stereotypes, LGBT rights, and women's rights. Tyler presented Ubisoft's press conference at E3 2012 in June, which received some reactions from fans who did not believe Tyler was a gamer. This caused Tyler to respond with a poem about how he has played video games "because you are a stranger on the left side of your father". He again hosted publishers' press conference the following year. Tyler's second book, Own Injuries: The Quiet Story of Epic Destruction , debuted in July 2013, later became the bestseller of the New York Times; it was inspired by questions asked by guests on Girl on Guy .
In March 2013, Tyler is confirmed to host the new American version of Who's Line It Anyway? . She also appeared briefly just like herself in the Watch Dogs video game and is featured in the music video for the song "Weird Al" Yankovic "Tacky". Tyler is also the original voice for Daisy Fitzroy's character in the 2013 BioShock Infinite video game, but the recording is not used and her role goes to Kimberly Brooks. She was nominated for 2014's Personality at the 2014 Golden Joystick Award.
In June 2015, it was announced that Tyler had a recurring role in the eleventh season of Criminal Minds. Although he served as a temporary replacement for Jennifer Love Hewitt, who was on maternity leave, her status was promoted to the lead role in season 12.
In 2016, Tyler started his Kickstarter campaign to finance his feature film directorial debut, Axis . The film was taken for seven days in May 2016. Axis was released via video-on-demand on April 10, 2018.
On June 15, 2017, The Talk episode, Tyler announced that he would leave the show at the end of the seventh season because of his busy work with three other television shows and directing the movie. He said he would return as a guest host and promote his various projects.
Personal life
Tyler married lawyer Jeff Tietjens in 1992 or 1994 (different source). The couple were separated in January 2015 and Tietjens filed for divorce in April 2016. It was completed in May 2017. Tyler stated about 1 hour and 5 minutes into the April 16, 2018 WTF episode with Marc Maron that he was married for 25 years.
Tyler is a vocal advocate for LGBTQ community rights.
