Map of Jane Murgatroyd (born July 14, 1986) is a New Zealand-born Australian professional dancer. He appeared on an international tour of the Burn the Floor dance production, including his Broadway run. She is famous for her appearance in the American edition of Dancing with the Stars, where she has won twice.

Murgatroyd was born in Auckland, New Zealand, but moved to Australia when he was 18 months old; as a result, he considers himself more of an Australian. She grew up in Perth, Western Australia, and began studying classical ballet at age 4. She trained for 12 years under the main dancer Kirov Ballet, Madame Lubov Nikonorenko. An ankle injury at the age of 16 forced Murgatroyd to surrender ballet. Murgatroyd then took the Latin dance.

Careers
In the early ballroom training months, Murgatroyd became W.A. Amateur Latin State Champion in 2002 and won the title again in 2003. She finished second in the World Championships of the Big City. Success in other competitions followed quickly; he is a semi-finalist at the Lion City Championships in Singapore and a finalist at the Australian Open Championships. He was ranked third in the world at the Youth Dance Festival competition under 21 Latin in 2005.
Burn Floor
Murgatroyd joined Burn The Floor players in 2004, touring them around the world for six years. When Burn the Floor landed on Broadway in August 2009, Murgatroyd was the main female dancer.
Dancing with the Stars
Murgatroyd joined the cast of Dancing with the Stars in 2011 as a member of the dance group in season 12. He became a regular member of professional players in season 13.
Dancing with the Stars (Season 13)
In season 13, Murgatroyd competed on the show as a professional with Metta World Peace basketball player. They are the first couple to be eliminated from the show.
Dancing with the Stars (Season 14)
In 2012, Murgatroyd re-emerged as a professional dancer competing in season 14 as a partner of football player Donald Driver. On May 22nd, it was announced that the couple were the winners of the competition. He is the second professional to win after finishing the previous season, after Kym Johnson.
Dancing with the Stars (Season 15)
For season 15, Murgatroyd partnered with actors and the season of runner-up Gilles Marini. They end up in sixth place.
Dancing with the Stars (Season 16)
In 2013, Murgatroyd re-emerged as a professional dancer competing in season 16 as Sean Lowe's bachelor's partner. They landed in sixth place.
Dancing with the Stars (Season 17)
For season 17, Murgatroyd is paired with actor Pretty Little Liars, Brant Daugherty. They are the sixth pair eliminated on November 4, 2013.
Dancing with the Stars (Season 18)
In 2014, Murgatroyd re-emerged as a professional dancer competing in season 18 in partnership with James Maslow's Big Time Rush . They made it to the finale but were in fourth place.

Dancing with the Stars (Season 20)
For season 20, Murgatroyd partnered with soccer player Michael Sam. The pair were eliminated on Sunday 4 and finished in 10th place.
Dancing with the Stars (Season 21)
On August 19, 2015, Good Morning America announced Murgatroyd will be one of the pro dancers on the upcoming 21 seasons of Dancing with the Stars. However, before the inaugural season, Murgatroyd was forced to sit this season with an ongoing ankle injury. Murgatroyd told the People magazine that he had four torn ligaments and a bone floating on his ankle that would require surgery and six to eight weeks of recovery time. Murgatroyd will partner with singer Andy Grammer.
Murgatroyd returned to the show during the 21st season semifinals, performing a trio of salsa with Backstreet Boy Nick Carter and Sharna Burgess. The group received a score of 30 for the dance.
Dancing with the Stars (Season 22)
Murgatroyd returns for season 22 and partnered with Deaf and Nyle DiMarco's model. On May 24, 2016, Murgatroyd and DiMarco were named champions this season.
Murgatroyd does not return for season 23 because of his pregnancy.

Dancing with the Stars: Live!
In April 2015, it was announced that Murgatroyd would take part in the tour Dancing with the Stars: Live! "Ten Perfect" during the summer of 2015. On June 25, 2015, Official Twitter with the Star of Love account announces Murgatroyd will take a short break from the tour due to an ankle injury.
Murgatroyd rejoins with Dancing with the Stars: Live! for the "Dance All Night" tour in winter 2015-2016. The tour is scheduled to stop in 43 cities.
Sway: Dance Trilogy
In 2014 Murgatroyd began performing at Sway: A Dance Trilogy in Westbury, New York with Maksim Chmerkovskiy. Chmerkovskiy praised his father Sasha with the idea for Sway. Sway is a live ballroom dance show starring Maksim, his brother Valentin, and Tony Dovolani. The show also features Murgatroyd, other professional dancers from Dancing with the Stars and So You think You Can Dance, and dance instructor from Dance with Me Studios.
Personal life
Murgatroyd is a professional Australian ballroom dancer and former member of DWTS player Damian Whitewood for five years before dropping out in early 2012.
She has been dating DWTS and Maksim Chmerkovskiy since 2012. By 2015, Chmerkovskiy has confirmed that she and Murgatroyd are dating again. Chmerkovskiy and Murgatroyd became engaged on December 5, 2015, when he proposed on stage for the Sway: A Dance Trilogy show in Miami, Florida. Their son, Shai Aleksander, was born January 4, 2017. Both were married on July 8, 2017 at Oheka Castle on Long Island, New York.
