Legendary is a 2010 drama film directed by Mel Damski. The film stars Devon Graye as a high school wrestler, in the cast featuring John Cena, Patricia Clarkson, Danny Glover, Madeleine Martin, and Tyler Posey. The film was released on September 10, 2010. The sequel was announced on April 25, 2018 which is scheduled to be released this fall.

Plot
After being bullied, a teenager who is smart in terms of games (but not the streets) Cal Chetley (Devon Graye), joins his high school wrestling team in Oklahoma, sees it also as a way to reunite with his scattered brother Mike (John Cena). His mother, Sharon (Patricia Clarkson), initially did not support Cal's decision, especially when he discovered that Mike secretly coached Cal after he got a call from Mike Chetley's prison cell. He has gone and has no contact with his older son, Mike, for more than 10 years, but is trying and watching other family men become legendary.

The film was released on Blu-ray and DVD on September 28, 2010. This DVD is sold exclusively on Walmart and Blu-ray exclusively at Best Buy.
Reception
Critics accepted the movie badly. On the review aggregator website Rotten Tomatoes, the film received approval ratings of 19% based on 43 reviews, and an average rating of 4.8/10. The critical consensus of the website reads, "Maudlin, predictable, and clichà © d, Legendary pins the talented players under the weight of schmaltz formula. " At Metacritic, the film has a weighted average score of 39 out of 100, based on 17 critics, showing "generally poor reviews".
Legendary missed the top 10 at the box office over the weekend with a wide release, totaling $ 200,393.
