American rock band Nine Inch Nails has released eight studio albums, one live album, three remix albums, a box set, six extended dramas, 20 singles, nine promotional singles, four video albums and 31 music videos. Nine Inch Nails also contributes to many movie soundtracks and soundtracks for the Quake video game.
The initial ambition for Nine Inch Nails in 1988 was the release of a 12-inch on a small European label. With the addition of future singles "Head Like a Hole" and "Sin", many of these demo songs will later appear in revised form on Pretty Hate Machine in 1989, an album co-produced by Adrian Sherwood and Ellis's Mark "Flood" which peaked at number 75 in 1990. Responding to the pressure from TVT Records to follow up on the commercially successful debut of Nine Inch Nails, Reznor began recording the Broken game extended in secret. The EP was released in 1992 and reached the top 10 on the Billboard studio album 200. Nine Inch Nails', The Downward Spiral , entered Billboard 200 in 1994 at number two, sold over four million copies in the US and remains the most widely sold Nine Inch Nails release in the United States.
Five years passed before Nine Inch Nails's next major album, The Fragile, a double album that debuted at number one on Billboard 200, sold 228,000 copies in its first week, but dropped from Big 10 afterwards. Six years passed before Nine Inch Nails's next studio album, With Teeth , which also debuted at the top of Billboard 200. In 2007, the band released Year Zero in addition to the alternate reality game that accompanies it. Reznor announced in late 2007 that Nine Inch Nails has fulfilled its contractual obligations with Interscope Records, and will be distributing the next major album independently. The latest Interscope release of Nine Inch Nails is a remix album based on material from Year Zero . The first Nine Inch Nails album released independently was instrumental Ghost I-IV in 2008, followed two months later by The Slip . Ritual Mark was released via Columbia Records on August 30, 2013. After teasing the release in early 2016, Reznor began releasing a new release trilogy: EP Not an Actual Event on December 23, 2016 and > Add Violence on July 21, 2017, followed by Bad Mistress , expected to be released on June 22, 2018.

Kronologi
Each Nine Inch release The official nails are chronologically ordered with sequence numbers beginning with the word "Hello". For example, the release of the fifth Nine Inch Nails, Broken , is identified with the phrase "Halo Five". These numbers are sometimes modified for an alternative version of the release, such as some of The Downward Spiral's release. Promotion-only releases do not have their own number, although promotional singles for "Piggy" and "Hurt" are both labeled as "Hello Ten", the title is then officially used for Next Down Spiral . The US promo for "Into the Void" is incorrectly equated as Halo 16 because it actually belongs to the Falling Apart's Things Falling Apart album.
