"Tryin 'to Get to You" is a song written by songwriter R & amp; B Rose Marie McCoy and Charles Singleton Originally recorded by the Washington DC group The Eagles in 1954 and released in mid-1954 on Mercury Records 70391. Advertisements in Billboard magazine show that the title format on The Eagles is "Tryin 'to Get to You ", with quotation marks.

The song was also recorded by Elvis Presley in 1955 on an unpublished Sun record.

Presley recorded five versions of the song. The first was on March 23, 1955 and the second on July 11, 1955, with a second session released during his lifetime. He also recorded a live version of the song on Elvis (NBC TV Special), Elvis: As Recorded on Stage in Memphis, and Elvis at the Concert . In an earlier version that appeared on the 1999 album, Sunrise , Presley recorded this song while playing the piano (and not helped by his rhythm guitar, as previously believed). Since the piano game did not match the expected standard, producer Sam Phillips removed the piano sound in the master, so, in addition to Elvis's vocal sound, all that was heard was lead guitar, bass, and drums. Elvis's piano was heard in the July version of the session and appeared in the 1956 LP entitled itself.

Presley's vocal delivery seems to be influenced by the vocalist of The Eagles, though it takes two magnificent knights at 0.56 and 2.12 one step forward by expanding its vocals so they meet, then join (and without stopping or breathing space in between), the first and second verses. In addition, Scotty Moore's solo guitar on Presley's recording replaced the saxophone solo that sounded on the original.

The song was released on the debut album RCA 1956 Presley Elvis Presley . It is also featured on the famous 1976 release (The Sun Sessions) and on many other Elvis efforts and collections as well.

"Trying To Get To You" was subsequently released by The Teen Kings with Roy Orbison in March 1956 when Je-Wel JE-101 was supported with "Ooby Dooby" on the B-side. The version by Johnny Carroll was also later performed, made on Decca Records on May 19, 1956 (Decca 9-29940).

Ricky Nelson who later gave care to the song.

After Eric Burdon did that several times on his own show, he reunited with The Animals in 1983 and recorded the song in the studio. It appeared on their album Ark . It was also included in their live performances before they broke up again in early 1984.

Later it was also covered by Johnny Rivers, Faith Hill, Susie Arioli, Gene Summers, and many others.

The song was adapted by Paul McCartney to create "In All All the Danger", the first original song recorded by Quarrymen, the predecessor to The Beatles.
