Been Been (2004) is William Shatner's second music album after 1968 The Transformed Man .
The album was produced and composed by Ben Folds and most of the songs were co-written by Folds and Shatner, with Folds making arrangements for Shatner's prose-poems, and featuring guest appearances from Joe Jackson (on the cover of "General Public" Pulp), Folds, and Aimee Mann (backing vocals on "That's Me Trying"), Lemon Jelly (in "Together"), Henry Rollins, and Adrian Belew (in "I Can not Get Behind That"), and Brad Paisley (in "Real" which he wrote specifically for Shatner).
Henry Rollins also talked about his experience while recording the song "I Can not Get Behind That" with Shatner on his unpublished album Talk Is Cheap Vol IV and in the live video he pronounced, Shock and Awe .
In 2007, a ballet named Common People , set to Has Been , created by Margo Sappington (from Oh! Calcutta! fame) and done by Milwaukee Ballet. Shatner attended the ère Premium and had the show filmed. The recording became William Shatner's Gonzo Ballet , a feature film with a well received world premium at the Nashville Film Festival on April 17, 2009. The documentary also featured interviews with William Shatner, Ben Folds, and Henry. Rollins.
