"I've Been Waiting for You" is a song written by Neil Young, which he recorded for his debut album in 1968. In a song review for AllMusic, critic Matthew Greenwald described it as "One of the songs the most powerful and well-crafted solo soloist of Neil Young's self titled Ã, ... A very powerful and compelling melody is regulating the dramatic and ripping guitar riffs, which function as a song hook. "
Young did not bring a song with Crazy Horse or Crosby, Stills, Nash & amp; Young, although he recorded a live solo acoustic version in November 1968, just days before the release of the album version. It was later included in the live album Sugar Mountain - Live at Canterbury House 1968 , released in 2008.
David Bowie, Pixies (B-side of the single "Velouria"), and Dinosaur Jr. (never released) has recorded the songs.
